To add to my pumpkin obsession, Pop Tarts has a limited edition Pumpkin Pie Pop Tart. Before I get into the good stuff, my pumpkin obsession needs to be addressed. I never really ate pumpkin things growing up, I was more of a sweet potato lover. This obsession definitely began with Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte and Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin in my undergraduate college years. Now I love pumpkin everything cookies, pancakes, you name it. I think pumpkin flavored anything is the new craze right now, especially because of those Starbucks lattes.

So I found this little gem in the grocery store last night, they were quite pricey for a box of Pop Tarts if you ask me, $4.12, or maybe I am just cheap. I was a little skeptical about trying them mainly Pop Tarts tried to make a new flavor out of anything and if you have tried some of these flavored sometimes they miss the mark. Also I love pumpkin flavored things but not pumpkin pie, so I thought that might be a problem.

So for breakfast, or should I say brunch at 1 p.m., I decided to open them up and give it a taste. I have to eat my Pop Tarts heated up or toasted. As I removed them from the microwave the aroma of them smelled amazing. It was love at first bite! I’m actually not sure what pumpkin pie taste likes, but I it tastes anything like the pop tart, I might have to give it a try. They really do have a nice pumpkin flavor, but a bit too sweet for my liking.

So I you like or love pumpkin I would say give these limited edition Pumpkin Pie Pop Tarts a try. I definitely wouldn’t recommend them to eat for breakfast unless you are prepared for an instant sugar high!
