So according to a recent study done, beer is actually not linked to weight gain but it actually has some health benefits.
Some health benefits are:
1)Beer has fewer calories by volume than wine, spirits and even orange juice.
2)Enjoyed in moderation, beer, like wine, can provide many essential vitamins and minerals and moderate consumption may also protect against many conditions such as heart disease, osteoporosis and diabetes
So although the whole beer belly thing is a myth. Like any other product that can be consumed drinking it in excess quite possibly can.
